Robert Palmer, of Blockley, Worcestershire, was the elder son of Robert Palmer and Alice (Heritage) Palmer. Robert Palmer was a partner in farm interests at Blockley with William Freeman. "A good deal of land in Aston [Magna] was held in the 16th century by the Freeman family, who were said in 1526 to have been established in the parish [of Blockley] 'from old time'." [Victoria County History of Worcester, Vol. 3 (1913)]
