Biography

Louisa Palmer was born about 1862 in Georgia, the daughter of Joseph Palmer and Amanda Melvina Adams Palmer[1].

In 1870, she lived with her parents, siblings and three unrelated black children, Clarissa Smith, Lavina Smith, and Ruth Smith, in Georgia[2].

In 1880, she lived in Montgomery County, Georgia with her grandparents, brother and two other people, William Cooper and Clarissa Connell[3].

She married George Washington Palmer.

In 1900 they lived in Adrian, Johnson County, Georgia with their children Eliza Ola, James M., Ida, Emma, and Hattie[4]. By 1920, they lived in Tarrytown, Montgomery County, Georgia with their children G.W. Jr., Lula, and grandson Ovie[5].

She died November 2, 1929, in Treutlen County, Georgia, and was buried in Adams Cemetery #3, Mount Vernon, Montgomery County, Georgia[1].
