Margherita Panepinto is born in Corleone on 19 November 1846, the daughter of Giuseppe Panepinto and Gaetana Maringo.[1][2] She is named after her maternal grandmother.
She marries at least twice, first to Leoluca Scimonetto, who dies 24 December 1876. She remarries to Lorenzo Gennaro, who is also a widower, on 19 February 1891.[3]
