Biography

Isabel (Park) Whitmore immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

Isabel Park was born on 2 Nov 1628 in Duxbury, Lancashire, England, daughter of Richard Parke and Margery Unknown.[1]

Her siblings were:

  1. Thomas Parke (~1627–1690)
  2. Elizabeth Parke (1631–1690)

Isabel (19) and Francis Whitmore (24) were married on 12 Oct 1648 in Cambridge, Middlesex, Massachusetts. Their known children were:

  1. Elizabeth Whitmore (1649–1676)
  2. Francis Whitmore (1650–1700)
  3. John Whitmore (1654–1739)
  4. Samuel Whitmore (~1658–1724)
  5. Abigail Whitmore (1660–1687)
  6. Sarah Whitmore (1662–<1698)

Isabel passed away on 31 Mar 1665 in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts Bay, aged 36. She was buried in Old Burying Ground, Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.[2] [1]

her father's will DTD 12 July 1665 mentioned his 2 daughters (he had only 2) and does not refer to Isabel as a deceased daughter. see RCA profile on Richard Park, p.361. So her DOD of 31 March 1665 is suspect.
