Frank's father was born in Indiana, his mother in Ohio. He was working as a teacher in 1900 in Clinton, Iowa.[1] In 1910 and 1920, he is a farmer in Clinton.[2][3] Frank also served as Post Master in Redding, often with various family members working with him as assistants.[4]
Frank had a brother named Jeremiah, married to Ida May, and they were living with the family in 1915.[5]
