Joseph was born in 1847 in Perth, Western Australia.[1]
He married Emma Austin in 1870 in Perth.[2] They had eleven children over 25 years.

Mr Joseph Parker, aged 81 years, was called to his fathers on Friday, September 23rd., after a short illness. The late Mr Parker was well known at East Pingelly, having resided for many years at Noonebin. His wife, the late Mrs Emma Parker, preceded his demise only by a few weeks. The remains were interred in the Pingelly Cemetary on the following day, the Rev. E. B. Roger officiating.
