Story from Ancestry.com: "It was said by Harry Sullivan Parker that Francis Parker was born in CT or New England. He sailed on a ship from Mystic, CT that ship-wrecked near Eleuthera. He settled on Harbour Island and later in a place called "The Bluff" on Eleuthera. He was a "wrecker" and it is said that he went to a wreck off Eleuthera and the cargo shifted and killed him. Source: Civil Death register in the Bahamas: "May 5, 1859, Francis Parker, planter, accidentally killed, 48, St. John's register, Harbour Island, Bluff District, Eleuthera". "
