John William Parker was born in Croydon, Surrey on December 6, 1924.[1] His parents were Percival Parker and Florence Blanchard
John was an only child but his father later had a daughter in a second marriage.
John Parker married Amy Winifred (Winnie) Larner on December 30, 1948 at St. John's Church Sevenoaks, Kent, England[2] and they had two children. John was in the Royal Navy at the time of his marriage.
They lived in Sevenoaks where after leaving the navy, John worked as a postman. Later he worked as a post office clerk at Westerham. While still in his fifties John developed bone cancer. He died in hospital at Sevenoaks, Kent at the age of 57 on January 27,1982.[3]
