Charles Louis Parker, Sr., passed away Sunday, November 8, 2009. Born in Vinita, OK, on March 6, 1928. Charlie was a lifelong Tulsan. After graduating from Central High School he proudly served in the United States Army. He attended The University of Tulsa, earning a BBA in Accounting, and worked in public accounting throughout most of his life. He founded two CPA firms: Parker and Rippy and later Parker and Company. Charlie was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Betty Ann Parker; by his parents, William Albion Parker and Mary Ellen Chamberlain Parker; and by his brothers, Norman Parker, Bill Parker, and Nelson Parker. Charlie was a flag-waving patriot, a proud member of the Cherokee Nation, a loving husband, and supportive father. A former president of the Tulsa Exchange Club, he also served the Exchange Club as Midwest District President. He and Betty Ann were founding members of Asbury United Methodist Church.[1]
