John was born about 1809. He was the son of John Parker and Rachael Shipley. He passed away about 1871.
Confederate Soldier record stated to be John T. Parker on the National Park Service Civil War website : [1] POCKRUS, J.T. PVT - Enl 25 Feb 1862 at Lewisville, AR. Wounded and paroled at Corinth, MS 5 Oct 1862. Captured 16 May 1863 at Champion Hill, MS & sent to MP Camp Morton, IN then to Ft Delaware, DE then to Point Lookout, MD. Exchanged 25 Dec 1863.
