Biography

A Charles Parker was admitted to the work house on 23 June 1863 and subsequently died there in November 1863. 6a 176
His age comes from the entry in the Gloucester workhouse admission and records
Since Thomas was born in 1863 in July there is a possibility that this CP in the workhouse was the father, even though he was 52 when he died. This would explain why Thomas was born at Mitre Street because Hannah went back to her Mother's house.
Hannah was only 29 at the time but it is still a possibility.
An as yet un-documented report from my Mother said she had found a record in the Gloucester Records Office for Charles and Hannah with Charles's occupation given as Tinker and their location itinerant traveller on the road.
Unfortunately my mother passed on before I could verify this fact and I cannot get to Gloucester.
