Biography

Snow Parker, mariner, businessman, politician, militia officer, judge, and jp; b. 16 May 1760 in Yarmouth, Mass., eldest child of Benjamin Parker and Mary Snow; m. 17 July 1780 Martha Knowles in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, and they had ten children; d. there 18 Sept. 1843[1][2][3]

  1. Experience, born July 4, 1783[4], who was the third wife of Joseph Freeman[5]
  2. Samuel, born October 29, 1784[4], who married Abigail Barss, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Barss[6]
  3. Mary, born July 26, 1787[4]
  4. Snow, Jr, born January 22, 1790, who was drowned June 14, 1794[4]
  5. Knowles, born September 23, 1792[4], who died December 14, 1843[7] [6]
  6. Betsey, born January 1, 1795[4]
  7. Patty, born July 26, 1797, who died March 14, 1801[4]
  8. Desiah, born September 4, 1799[4], who married David Grieve, son of Thomas and Mary Grieve of Glasgow, Scotland in 1821[8], and then married Caleb Seeley in 1848 [6]
  9. Patty, born February 5, 1802[4], who died in 1865[9]
  10. Rhoda, born May 30, 1805[4], who married John O Morse in 1832[6]

Partner of Thomas Freeman, Joseph Freeman, Joseph Barss Sr, Joseph Barss Jr, Simeon Perkins, Hallet Collins, and Enos Collins.

Part owner of the privateers Charles Mary Wentworth, Retaliation, and Duke of Kent[10] [7].
