Frances was born in 1893. She was the daughter of John Cottam and Fanny Hall Morton.^[1]

Frances married Alan Parker in 1914 at Chester, Cheshire.^[2][3]

Well-known Waltonian Married at Chester.
The marriage was celebrated at Upton Church, Chester, on Tuesday, of Mr. Alan Parker, son of Mr. W. Parker, J.P., Withey Growe, Bamber Bridge, and Frances Agnes Cottam, the only daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cottam, Milnthorpe. The Rev. W. Sparling (vicar) officiated. The bride who wore a saxe blue velvet dress, trimmed with skunk, with a black velvet picture hat also trimmed with skunk, was given away by her uncle, Mr. John Morton, Skelmergh Hall, Kendal. The best man was Mr. Spencer, of Preston. The church was beautifully decorated. A reception was afterwards held at the Grosvenor Hotel, Chester, and later the newly married couple left for Naples and Sicily, where the honeymoon is to be spent.

Mrs. Alan Parker is the widow of Captain Alan Parker, K.O.R. Lancs. Regiment, and is the only child of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Cottam, of Milnthorpe. She has been an assiduous V.A.D. assiistant and war-worker in other directions. Mr. W. Joynson-Wreford, Royal Artillery, is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Heyman Wreford, of Exeter.-[Photographs by Hugh Cecil.]
