John and Abigail were in Andover after their marriage and their six oldest children were born there. The family relocated to Westford in 1782. On 12 April 1782 (recorded 31 May 1782), John Parker, yeoman of Andover, for payment of £575, purchased the homestead property of Henry Wright of Westford. The homestead was about 40 acres, and the transaction included a separate woodlot, a meadow, and a 5-acre piece north of Flushing Pond.[1] On 20 May 1782 (recorded 30 July 1785), John Parker, gentleman of Andover with his wife Abigail, in consideration of £530, sold to John Johnson of Andover two pieces of land in Andover including “my dwelling house”, barn, and other buildings.[2]
