Thomas was born in 1806 and was employed as an agricultural labourer.
He married in 1833 1 at Chilthorn Downer to Susanna Budgell. Witnesses to their marriage were Charles and Louisa Budgell. Three children were born before the Parkers left England, Henry, Shadrick and Elizabeth.
In 1841 Thomas and his family emigrated to New Zealand on the ship 'Gertrude' 2 and settled at the Hutt, Wellington. Thomas began clearing land and set up as a farmer.

In 1846 he was among many to receive financial aid from the government after having to leave their land due to native insurgents.
Thomas Parker died in 1897 aged 92. He was buried at Alfredton Street Cemetery, Eketahuna 3.
The original grave and headstone has been cleared from the Alfredton Street Cemetery along with other early burials. The Memorial that Thomas Parker is recorded on is sited where the First Cemetery of Eketahuna stood to recognise those buried.
Thomas was born about 1802. He passed away in 1897.
