Peter Parker was born probably about 1640 in Jamestown RI, [1]the son of George Parker and Frances Darbye Parker of Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
Following the English take over of New Netherlands in 1664, Peter, Joseph, and sister, Meribah (Slocum), and their spouses left Rhode Island and moved to Shrewsbury, New Jersey, claiming homesteads under the Monmouth Patent.
In 1682, Peter Parker, the son of George Parker, left Shrewsbury to go back to Rhode Island. Subsequently, Peter passed his land down to his nephew, who was also named Peter. In 1688, nephew Peter Parker purchased land covering half of the three “necks”: Navesink, Narumson, and Portaupeck; however, the family lost some of this land during the Revolutionary War. In 1707, Peter married Elizabeth Slocum, who was born in Shrewsbury on November 15, 1698. https://www.parkerhomestead-1665.org/parker-history.html
