Biography

He is the son of Silas Parker and Lucy Duty. In 1836 Jonn and his sister, Cynthia Ann Parker, were captured by Comanche Indians at Fort Parker, Texas. Three other family members were also captured. Their father (Silas), grandfather (John Parker), and uncle (Benjamin Parker) were killed during the raid. Their uncle James W. Parker, who also lived at Fr. Parker, searched for the children for years to come. [1]
