John Parker was born about 1800 to Moses Parker and Hannah Johnson in Elbert County, Georgia.

He married Rhoda Orpha Strickland on October 27, 1818 in Barnwell County, South Carolina. Their children were:

  2. William J. Parker
  3. Daniel Parker
  4. Hannah Parker
  5. Benjamin Franklin Parker
  6. Indiana Parker
  7. Joseph Parker
  8. John M. Parker

He died, at the age of 62, on May 27, 1862 in Hickman County, Tennessee.
