Budgell was her paternal grandmothers maiden name, Susanna/Susannah Budgell wife of Thomas Parker.
Ruth was recorded as Ruth Budgwell on the Electoral Rolls.
Henry and Eleanor Parker set up business in Wellington as Umbrella Makers.
Ruth married in 1886 to George Edward Clemens and had 3 children during the marriage.
In 1900, Ruth and George were living in Pahiatua in the Manawatu where George was working as a Farmer. By 1911, they had returned to the Wairau district and settled in Blenheim and later Mahakipawa with George working as a Miner.
Ruth qualified as a Midwife and from the early 1900's was working in Wellington, Christchurch, North Canterbury and intermittently Blenheim. Ruth was still actively working up to 1933 just a few years before her death.
She passed away in 1937 age 75 and was buried on July 6th at Omaka cemetery, Blenheim. Her death was registered in the July/September quarter at Wairau. LOCATION - CEM 3 B1 4 SEC 70[1]
