DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

I am a descendant of John Park / Mary Gordon. My paternal grandmother was a Park. When DNA first became a useful tool (early 2000s) there were male Park family members with whom I maintained correspondence who participated in a DNA study that determined that John Park (of Mary Gordon) and the Roger Park line were not related. John was determined to have come to New Jersey as a young man and might possibly have been the son of an immigrant from Scotland. Roger came from northern England. I preserved my correspondence but did not review the actual data. My Park line left New Jersey early 1800s and settled in Bureau County, Illinois. Bill Green

Research needs to be done as to who John's parents are. I've seen John (1705-1765) and Mary Heath (1705-1746) Parke; Robert (1721-1758) and Content Stewart (1727-1750) Parke; Alexander Parke (1709); Roger II (1664-1755) and Susannah Robinson (1668-1731). Susannah, however, would have died well before John was born.
