Jack was born in 1912. He is the son of Roy Parks] and Eva Colsher. He passed away in 1980.
Obituary
Funeral services for Jack Parkes, 68, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. were held last Friday from the chapel of Harrison Funeral Home. Rev. David Spencer officiated. Burial was in the Lynchburg cemetery. Mr. Parkes died at his home in Florida last Wednesday after an extended illness. He was retired from the US Corps of Engineers. He was a native of Moore County and a son of the late Roy H. and Eva Colsher Parkes. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Trixie Gray Parkes of Florida; one daughter, Mrs. Judy Murray of Tullahoma; two brothers, Roy H. Parkes Jr. of Lynchburg and Robert Parkes of Fayetteville and one grandchild. Pallbearers were Phil Parkes, Bill Gray, Bill Hobbs, Hal Parkes, Charles Edde and Robert J. Parkes.
