Edward Parnell Jr was born about 1760 in North Carolina. His parents are believed to be Edward Parnell and Emma (?). Geni profile linked below says parents are Thomas Parnell & Mary (?).
At some point in the 1770s or 1780s Edward married (?).
The 1790 US Census show Edward's name is the last one on the page, and the tick-marks likely indicate himself, his wife, 4 sons and 1 daughter.[1]
These marriage records from 1819 seems to show that Edward married again late in life.[4][5][6] Edward would be nearly 60 years old and new wife Sophia (Ness) about 70, but the sum of 500 pounds seems to be quite a steep price for a marriage license.
The 1820 US Census.[7] This record uses tick-marks that seem to indicate 1 "Free White Male" over 45 years old, 1 "Free White Female", that would account for Edward & Sophia, and 1 mark that represents a 16 to 18 year old male, presumably Ed's youngest son still at home.
The 1830 US Census shows that both Ed and Sophia are still alive at their advanced age, but no others in the home.[8]
Research Notes
Parnell-390 was created by Michael Marquez through the import of marquez Family Tree(1).ged on Oct 28, 2014. This comment and citation should be deleted after a short biography has been added and primary sources have been cited. Can you add information or sources?
Several missing records cause gaps in the bio that can hopefully be filled in at some point if additional birth, marriage and death sources can be found.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Edward by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Edward:
