The Centennial history of Washington County, Indiana has a section about Arthur Parr and his son Enoch, including an account of Arthur's service during the American Revolution.[1]
Arthur Parr was born on 5 July 1758 in North Carolina, probably in Rowan County.[2][1]
During the Revolutionary War, Arthur was a private and sergeant, serving with Capt. Joseph Kirkland, Thomas Woodward and Joseph Handcock. He also served with Col. John Winn, Beard and Moultree.[2]
Arthur Parr married Feb 22 1782; Mary Morgan, commonly called Polly Morgan.[1][3]born Feb 12, 1766; died Jan 2, 1837[4]
"My father was the son of Arthur Parr who was killed at Hillsborough in N. Carolina and who left a widow and six children. From my grand mother my father learned that her husband's father was named John and that he come from England. My mothers ancestors generally come from Wales her fathers name was James Morgan his mothers name was Molly Davis."

In 1820, Arthur lived in Washington County, Indiana. His household consisted of 1 male 19 to 25 years old, 1 male 45 or older, 1 female 10 to 15; 3 people engaged in agriculture.[6]
In 1830, Arthur Parr lived in Washington County, Indiana. His household consisted of 1 male 70 to 80 years old, 1 female 10 to 15 years old, and 1 female 60 to 70 years old.[7]
On 4 March 1831, Arthur's Revolutionary War pension commenced. The last payments was made in March 1833.[8]
Arthur died on 21 March 1833 in Washington County, Indiana,[2] and is buried at the Franklin Cemetery, Salem, Washington, Indiana.[9]
