John & Harriet Parr in Ohio bet. 1812 and 1845 Posted by: Elizabeth Rose (ID *****5203) Date: November 23, 2002 at 14:25:55 In Reply to: John & Harriet Parr in Ohio bet. 1812 and 1845 by Rosemary MacGowan Corbin of 2446

John Parr b. 1812 is the son of Richard Parr & Mary Elliott daughter of Capt.Samuel Elliott & Mary Campbell who also came to Licking Co. about 1801 from Allegheny Maryland. Richard is the son of Samuel Parr & Sarah Leonard who moved from Fayette Co., Pennsylvania to Licking Co. Oh 1802. Samuel b. 1758 is the son of Richard & Judith Parr who were in Fayette Co. Penn by 1772 Springhill Twp.(From the Descendants of Richard Parr pgs. 1,3,6,27.) In the list of John & Harriet's children is listed a Luman with no further information. they lived in Louden Cedar Co. Iowa about 1848.From page 22 of (Additions to The Descendants of Richard Parr), it is listed that John later moved to Newcastle, Nebraska. Son Luman was b. 1845. These books were compiled by Marian Hopiak in 1980 & several years later from information gathered by Perry O. Parr from 1922 up to the time of his death in 1980. My deceased husband Gordon R. Rose was a descendant of this family through the youngest son of Samuel & Sarah, William Smith Parr & also of their daughter Margaret who was one of the older sisters of William. Margaret married Samuel Elliott Jr. brother to Mary Elliott. Elizabeth (Betty) Rose http://genforum.genealogy.com/parr/messages/1570.html __________________________________________________________

Hi: Thanks again. I had the historical info. you sent except for Judith. My Luman was born in 1945 as you said, he married Mary A. Pasco, and their son, Delbert (my grandfather) was born in 1869 in Blairstown, Benton Co., Iowa. John's brother, William, also had a son named Luman who was born in 1924. I believe that he died in 1854 in Cedar Co., Iowa. My Luman disappeared early in Delbert's life (probably in the 1870s, and my mother (Delbert's daughter, Lorena) didn't know anything about him, however she had lots of info. about Mary Pasco. I will check the Morman Church Library in Oakland to see if they have or can get the books to which you refer. Thanks again, Rosemary
