Ann Parrish was born in about 1667 in West River, Anne Arundel, Maryland, to Edward and Clara Parrish. Edward owned numerous tracts of land, one of which, Parrish's Range, (approximately 2,000 acres), remained in the family through multiple generations. Likewise, the sources in this profile indicate that Ann had four siblings: Mary, Edward, John, and William, born of the same parents. While additional siblings are listed in the profile, corroborating sources have not been located. Ann's marriage to Matthew Hawkins has been reported on various platforms as occurring between 1690 and 1694, but no supporting evidence to date has been found. It is possible that the following statement in the will of Edward Parrish provides evidence of a marriage between Ann Parrish & Matthew Hawkins since Matthew is called kin:

to my kinsman Matthew Hawkins and his heirs 150 acs. already laid out for him part of Parrishes Range. He shall not sell to any but to my sons, William or John. I also give one cow.^[1]
