Joseph was born in 1740 in England, Henrico, Virginia, United States. He was the son of Joseph Parsons and Susannah Mary (Woody) Parsons.^[1]

In 1790 Joseph (age about 50) was living in Laurens, South Carolina, USA.^[2]

When Joseph was about 53 he married Alcey (Goolsby) Parsons in 1793 in Ninety Six, Laurens, South Carolina.

In 1800 Joseph (age about 60) was living in Laurens District, South Carolina, USA.^[2]

Joseph died at the age of about 83 on 23 October 1823 in Jefferson, Alabama, USA.^[3][2][4]
