Biography

Benjamin Parsons, Sr, the Deacon and father of Benjamin Parsons, Jr.) was the youngest of the 10 children of Hugh Parsons, being the son of his second wife Elizabeth Bagshawe the widow of Thomkins. His grandparents were Thomas and Katherine (Hester) Parsons. He was baptized on March 17, 1627/28 at Sandford, England. He married first in Windsor, Conn., November 6, 1653, Sarah Vore. She was the third child of the four children of Richard and Ann Vore. She died on January 1, 1675/76, in Springfield, Mass. He married second, Sarah Heald (or Heath), widow of John Leonard. Deacon Parsons was a man of exemplary character and great prominence in Springfield. He died August 29, 1689.
