Anne Marie Partridge was born about 1794 in Australia. A record of her birth has not been found. According to her marriage license, her mother was Anne Driver.
On 19 May 1818 at St. Philip, Sydney, New South Wales, Anne Marie married John Irving. The church register recorded that John Irving, shipwright, was age 22 and Ann Partridge was age 20. Witnesses were John Hunter and Susanna Hunter.[1] On the Licence for Marriage dated 18 May 1818, Anne is described as the daughter of Anne Driver of Sydney. [2] It appears that Ann lied about her age, to appear younger than her husband.
In the 1828 census they were living at Darling Harbour: Ann Irving, 33, born in the colony, and daughter Emily, 8, born in the colony, with John Irving, John, 32, born in the colony, Protestant, shipwright,[3]
Sometime after 1835, the couple emigrated to New Zealand, where they resettled with their family.
She died Ann Irving in 1875, aged 81.[4]
