James Patch was baptized in Beverly, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, 31 March 1678,[1] the son of Thomas Patch and his wife, Mary Lovett.[2] He died in Beverly, 1 April 1757, age 80.[3]

The father had been sick with small pox, and mabe died of it; Robert's wife had nursed Mother Patch 12 weeks in last sickness."
