Biography

James Patch was baptized in Beverly, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, 31 March 1678,^[1] the son of Thomas Patch and his wife, Mary Lovett.^[2] He died in Beverly, 1 April 1757, age 80.^[3]

James married, probably Beverly, shortly after 22 December 1700 (date of intention), Rebecca Biles, the daughter of Jonathan Biles and his wife, Elizabeth Patch.^[4]

Son of Thomas Patch of Beverly, not Wenham James Patch, baptized Beverly, was the son of Thomas Patch and his wife, Mary Lovett of Beverly,^[25] and not the son of Thomas Patch of Wenham, and his wife, Mary Scott. The father had been sick with small pox, and mabe died of it; Robert's wife had nursed Mother Patch 12 weeks in last sickness."
