Additional Data
PATERSON.
A sad event occurred last Saturday in connection with the family of one of our townsmen in the death of Mr. Alfred Patfield at Hamilton. Mr. Patfield was the eldest son of Mr. Samuel Patfield, one of our oldest residents, and the Sunday prior to his death he visited his parents here, returning to Hamilton the same evening. On the Monday he was seized with an acute attack cf pneumonia and pleurisy, to which he succumbed after intense suffering early on Saturday morning. He was interred at Sandgate on Sunday afternoon. The deceased leaves a wife and six children, the youngest twin girls of two years, to mourn their sad loss. Much sympathy is expressed with the bereaved wife and parents in their great and sudden sorrow.
