Charity Patterson was born in 1768. [1]

Estate Records of Gilbert Patterson Chatham county, North Carolina - Records name heirs: Minor heirs in 1798 placed under guardianship of Joseph Lea as records shown in estate records were: Moses Patterson; Ann Patterson; Luke Patterson; Charles Patterson; Gilbert Patterson; Mark Patterson; and Solomon Patterson. Children who were heirs over the age of 21 filed a Petition with the court at the November Term 1801 that named the heirs over 21 as: Celia Patterson; Mordecai Patterson, Joab Patterson; Patience Patterson; Chloe Modglin; Emanuel Patterson; Charity Poe; and minor heirs under the guardianship of Joseph Lea: Mark Patterson; Luke Patterson; Gilbert Patterson; Moses Patterson; Solomon Patterson; Ann Patterson; and Charles Patterson. Sarah Patterson widow is listed as an heir and that she had applied to the court for her dower rights.[2]

She married Jesse Poe.

She is buried in the Poe Family Cemetery in Gulf, Chatham County, North Carolina, USA.[3][4]
