Samuel Patterson was enumerated at Morganton Post Office, Fannin County, Georgia for the July 16, United States Census, 1870. He was noted as born 1861-1862 in Georgia and at home as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are male James Patterson, female Esther Patterson, male Newton Patterson, male James Patterson, female Jane Patterson, female Julia Patterson, female Esther Patterson and female Amanda Patterson.[1]

Samuel J. Patterson wed June Johnson May 4, 1890 in Fannin County, Georgia.[2]

Samuel Patterson was enumerated as head of the household in Township 16 N. Range 26, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory (Oklahoma) for the June 11, United States Census, 1900. He was noted as a farmer and born July 1864 in Georgia. He had been married for ten years and was a renter. Also included in the household are wife Jane Patterson, son Marcus Patterson, son James A Patterson, daughter Josie M Patterson, daughter Minnie M Patterson, son Samuel A Patterson and sister (sister-in-law) Araynna Johnson as seen in an image of the original census.[3]

Sam J Patterson was enumerated as head of the household at Wauhillau, Adair County, Oklahoma for the April 21, United States Census, 1910. He was noted as born 1863 in Georgia and had been married for twenty years. He lists his occupation as a farmer on a general farm and he is a renter as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Jane Patterson, son Macurs Patterson, son James Patterson, daughter Annie Patterson, daughter Minnie Patterson, son Arthar Patterson, daughter Lara Patterson and daughter Mary Patterson.[4]

Sam J Patterson was enumerated as head of the household at Wauhillau, Adair County, Oklahoma for the January 20, United States Census, 1920. He was noted as born 1863 in Georgia and married. He was a renter and a farmer on a general farm as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Cynthia J Patterson, son Mark L Patterson, daughter Minnie Patterson, son Aurthur Patterson, daughter Laura Patterson and daughter Mary J Patterson.[5]

Sam Patterson was enumerated as head of the household at Wauhillau, Adair County, Oklahoma for the May 22, United States Census, 1930. He was noted as born 1865 in Georgia and married. He was first married at the age of twenty-six. He was an owner and a farmer on a general farm as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Jane Patterson, daughter Minnie Patterson, daughter Laura Patterson and daughter Mary J Patterson.[6]

On April 1, 1935, Sam J Patterson lived in Wauhillau, Adair County, Oklahoma.[7]

Sam J Patterson was enumerated as head of the household at Wauhillau, Adair County, Oklahoma for the May 3, United States Census, 1940. He was noted as born 1863 in Georgia and married. He owned a home worth $200. He was a farmer as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Syntha Jane Patterson, daughter Minnie Patterson and daughter Laura Patterson.[7]

Samuel J Patterson is buried at Stilwell Cemetery in Stilwell, Adair County, Oklahoma, USA.[8]
