Daughters of the American Revolution
John Patterson Esq. is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A086409.

John was the son of Robert Patterson of Meherrin Creek in what had been Bertie County.[1]

Upon his father's death John as the only son inherited all of his father's land.

In Bertie Co., North Carolina a John Patterson believed to be this one witnessed a deed between an A. Ireland to John Hodgson on 1 June 1733.[2]

Then on 7 August 1734 in Bertie Co., where for 20 John Patterson sold to Thomas Vincent, "400 acres on the North Side of Urah Swamp, commonly known as "powdering Tubb" at Bear Swamp, elapsed from Gabriel Parker, to Robert Patterson by grant dated 30 day 1720, now in possession of Thomas Vincent. (Thomas was probably a relative of John's step-father David Vincent.)"[3]

In June 1755, at the County Court of Orange Co., North Carolina, William Moore was brought forward to testify to the fact that John was the only male heir of Robert Patterson of Meherrin Creek.[4]

John died on April 5, 1787 in Orange Co., North Carolina.[5]
