Percy was born in Nova Scotia in 1895. He was adopted by Charles and Rose Patterson. He immigrated to America with his parents in 1899. He married Mabel Dill and they had 6 children, 2 boys and 4 girls. He worked hard all his life providing for his family. He was a farm laborer and worked in a leather tanning shop.
