Note: {geni:about_me} Service in memory of Amos S. Patterson, brief mention of whose death was made in the Herald yesterday, will be conducted from his late home in Chapmanville Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev. Lloyd Mohnkern, pastor of the ME church, officiating, and interment in the Troy Center cemetery.
Mr. Patterson had been an invalid for the past two years and on Monday morning suffered a stroke which was followed by another on Tuesday morning from which he failed rapidly, passing away at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday.
He was born in Troy township and became one of the leading farmers with a wide acquaintance throughout the community. Retiring from the farm eleven years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Patterson located in Chapmanville. Beside the widow formerly Miss Ida Martin to who he was married in 1881, he leaves a son, Theodore Patterson, residing on the homestead, and two daughters, Mrs. William Arthurs of Rouseville and Mrs. Adam Murray of Titusville. There are two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Proper of Harmonsburg and Mrs. Sarah Sullivan of Wilcox, and one brother, Edward Patterson of Meadville.
