"Robert Paterson... was born in 1671, at Castle Cunningham, Ireland, and came to America in 1718, with a large body of people who came in that year. He located first at Portland, Maine, and settled at Saco in 1729. Having found a location to suite him, and now being able, he sent in that year for his wife and three children who had remained in Ireland. The name of the wife has not been preserved, but the children were: John, Grizzle and Robert."[1]
"Martin Jameson, son of William Jameson, was born 1705, in the county of Antrim, Ireland. He married Grizzel Patterson. She was born in 1706. They resided in Biddeford, Me. Mr. Jameson died April 3, 1760. Mrs. Jameson died March 18, 1802, in Belfast, Me.
Children were: Mary, William, James, Samuel, Robert, Hannah, Jane.... An inscription on stone in the East Graveyard, Belfast, Me., reads as follows: In Memory of Mrs. Grizzel Jameson, Relict of the late Mr. Martin Jameson of Pepperrellboro, Who died March 18th, aged 96"[2]
