Maria is listed both as Patterson and Payson. Maria died on 20 February 1907, in Lunenburg, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada, at the age of 86, and was buried in Tremont, Kings, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Died at New Germany -
The Body of Mrs. David Banks Brought to Middleton Yesterday. -
The death occurred on Feb. 20th of Mrs. Banks, widow of the late David Banks of Meadowvale. She was residing with her daughter, Mrs. Enoch Durling of New Germany. Being in her 86th year she was unable to resist a severe attack of pneumonia to which she succumbed after a few days illness. Three sons and two daughters survive. They are J. Alonzo Banks of Tremont, Mrs. Enoch Durling of New Germany, Beniah S. Banks of Meadowvale, A.J. Banks of Middleton and Mrs. Spurgeon Bowlby of Tremont. The body was brought to Middleton by train yesterday and the burial was at Tremont. Mrs. Banks will be remembered as a peacemaker, who never said an unkind word of any, and was a true and consistent christian.

Banks -At the home of her daughter, Mrs. Enoch Durland, New Germany, Feb. 20, of pneumonia, Mrs. Maria Banks, aged 85 years 9 mos. 20 days. This aged sister was the widow of David Banks, for many years a devoted and esteemed member of Lower Aylesford church, who died in 1901, they having been married for 55 years.
