Biography

• Mary Patterson was born on December 17, 1896, in Middlesborough, Yorkshire, England, her father, James, was 26, and her mother, Mary (Carter) Patterson, was 25. She married Warren Teagarden Penfold the son of Frank Charles and Della (Teagarden) Penfold, on November 15, 1915, in Denver, Colorado. They had five children during their 47-year marriage together. Her husband Warren died in 1962 and Mary married Fredrick Charles Harris on April 11, 1963, in Alameda, California. Mary died on May 28, 1982, in San Lorenzo, California, at the age of 85, and was buried in Lone Tree Cemetery, Hayward, California, where she was placed next to her first husband Warren. To this family, and her role as mother and grandmother were the most important thing to her.
