Biography
Lillie Maudella Patterson, daughter of John and Isabell (Collier) Patterson, was born on 17 Sep. 1895 in Muldrow, Indian Territory, USA.[1][2] She appeared on the census of 13 July 1900 in the home of her parents at Township 11, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory.[3] She appeared on the census of 14 May 1910 in the home of her parents at Bunch Township, Adair County, Oklahoma.[4]
She married James Anderson Copeland on 30 March 1913,[5] James died in 1919.
She was a widow and a farmer when she appeared on the census of 5 Jan. 1920 at Brent Township, Sequoyah County, Oklahoma.[6]
She married William Pittman on 3 Oct. 1922 at Sadie, SequoyahCounty, Oklahoma.[7]
She was a widow when she appeared on the census of 11 April 1930 at Brent Township, Sequoyah County, Oklahoma. Her family was living next to her mother and brother, Grover.[8]
While Lillie was using the name Copeland in 1930, in the census of 12 April 1940 at Brent Township, Sequoyah County, Oklahoma, she used the name Pittman and stated she was divorced. She was working as a WPA housekeeping aide.[9]
She married Elufis L. Long on 15 June 1950 at Stone County, Arkansas.[10]
Lillie died on 2 May 1981[2] at Sallisaw, Sequoyah County, Oklahoma, and was buried at Brent Cemetery, Gans, Sequoyah County, Oklahoma. Her memorial has biographical material, a photo of her headstone and links to those of family members.[1]
