George Herbert Payne was born in 1873 in Bathurst, Colony of New South Wales, son of Richard Payne (~1838–1916) and Ann Howell (~1840–1910).[1]

George (24) married Maria Maud White (27) (born about 1871 in Hartley, New South Wales; daughter of John White and Elizabeth (Jackson) White) in 1899 in Wallerawang, New South Wales. Their children were:

George (56) married Mary Anne Johns (43) (born about 1887) on August 15, 1931 in Marrickville, New South Wales.

George died in 1962 in Hurstville, New South Wales, Australia, aged about 87.
