Hi again, I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to great info about adding a GEDCOM to WikiTree that you might find helpful. Also, 'Before you import a GEDCOM' Because WikiTree has only one profile for each person, the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and help out.

Sources are very important for genealogy - be sure to include the sources used, on each profile you add.

It is a good idea to enter a few of your ancestors manually, to get used to how WikiTree works. Then, you could upload a small portion of your tree, with a gedcom, to see how that works. There is usually editing needed after a Gedcom import, so fewer profiles makes the task easier.

Hi Erika, You are now a member of the WikiTree Community - We are building One Collaborative Tree, with just one profile per person, so it is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add Profiles to WikiTree.

"Sources are critically important for genealogy. Some even say that genealogy without sources is mythology. Even if you're just a casual family historian recording modern family history, you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from."

If you have pre-1700's ancestors to add, please read our Pre-1700 profiles info. Please, be sure to include a list of the sources used, on each profile you add.

If you need any help getting started check out the Help Index or the G2G forum - Good luck growing your branches, Patt

Hi, I'm Erika. I have been into genealogy since 1989 when I got my first Family Tree Maker software. I don't have many immediate family left so this is my way of reconnecting and keeping them with me.
