Biography

When Elizabeth Payne was born on 23 September 1837 in Rotherfield, Sussex, her father, Samuel, was 45, and her mother, Mary, was 41. She married Henry Filtness on 18 February 1854 in her hometown. They had seven children in 12 years. She died on 22 May 1924 in Crowborough, Sussex, at the age of 86.
