Biography
Joshua Paynter was the Inspector-General of Army Hospitals, J.P. for the county of Pembroke.[1]
His youngest daughter was Constance Paynter.[1]

Service 11.1.1829 Commissioned Staff Assistant Surgeon . 7.6.1839 Assistant Surgeon 60th Kings Royal Rifle Regiment, 20.10.1840 2nd the Rifle Brigade , served in Malta between 1840-1873 , served 1846-1847 in the 7th Kaffir War ( war of Axe) 1848-1856 served in Various Regiments. Fought at the Battle on Balaclava and Inkerman and Almas and the Fall of Sebastopol , received Crimea Medal and 4 Clasps and a Turkish Medal In 1858 Awarded Imperial Order of the Medjidie ( 5th Class) by the sultan for services against the Russian , in 1867 made Inspector General. between 1867-1872 was in Malta
