Biography

Ralph was born on February 15, 1909, in Churdan, Greene County, Iowa.[1] He is the son of William Peacock and Madaline Beecher.

He died on July 23, 1969 in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa. He was buried in the Masonic cemetery in Des Moines.

His obituary was published in the Des Moines Tribune on July 24, 1969.

Ralph Peacock Rites Friday
Services for Ralph B. Peacock, 60, of 2512 Forty-seventh st., who died of a heart ailment Wednesday at Iowa Methodist Hospital, will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Westover Funeral Home with burial in the Masonic Cemetery.
Mr. Peacock, a native of Churdan, had been a Des moines resident 39 years, living previously in Spirit Lake, and was employed as a property counselor with the Iowa Department of Social Services.
He attended Drake University and was a member of Waveland Park Masonic Lodge, Des Moines Consistory, Za-Ga-Zig Shrice and Westminster United Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel; a daughter, Mrs. Suzanne Smith of Cedar Rapids; a son, William S. of Houston, Tex.; his mother, Mrs. Madelin Peacock of Los Angeles, Calif.; his siter, Mrs. Jeanne Hyun of Los Angeles; a brother, Donald A. of Des Moines, and four grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Shrine Crippled Children's Hospital.[2]

1920 - United States Federal Census - In the 1920 census, William and his family are still in Highland township, Greene county, Iowa where the family is renting a home. Listed at home are William as head of household, 40; his wife, Madaline B. Peacock, 32; and their children Kenneth M. Peacock, 14; Donald A. Peacock, 12; and Ralph B. Peacock, 10.[4]

1930 - Federal United States Census - In the 1930 census, Madeline Peacock, 42, is listed as widowed and head of household in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa. Living with her are her children, Kenneth M. Peacock, 24; Donald A. Peacock, 22, Ralph B. Peacock, 20 and Jean Peacock, 1. Kenneth is working as a lawyer.[5]

July 23, 1969 - Death - Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa.
