Jean Peckham Kavale is an author and editor.

The daughter of a career army officer, Jean moved often during her childhood. She attended three high schools: Woodrow Wilson in Washington, DC; American Community School in Paris, France; and A.B. Davis in Mt. Vernon, New York (from which she received her high school diploma in 1950).

Jean graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a degree in English in 1954. After moving to California, she obtained a teaching credential at San Jose State University and then taught school for several years.

A master's degree that Jean received from the University of San Francisco in 1977 propelled her into the publications field. Thereafter she worked for more than fifteen years as an editor in Silicon Valley, including Senior Editor with PDR Information Services and Contract Editor with ROLM, IBM,General Electric, and other well-known companies.

Upon her retirement, she started her own company, Cypress Publishing, through which she published her three books: (1)Faith and Philosophy: A Study of Their Interrelationship; (2)From the Potomac to the Seine: The Personal Story of an Army Family, and (3)A Salute to Patriotism: The Life and Work of Major General Howard L. Peckham (a biography of her father). Formerly located in Saratoga, Jean's company is now situated in the Central Valley city of Manteca, to which she and her husband Robert moved in 2007.
