Harvey J. Peeler was born about 1880 in Salisbury, North Carolina, USA and was the son of Laura Charlotte (Bost) and Lawson Peeler.
He married Pattie Kirk on July 20, 1902. They had eight children: Della Myers, Harvey, Shuford, Eugene, James, H. J., William and Betty Priest.
Harvey taught school for 20 years. He was superintendent of the East Spencer schools and later the Kannapolis school system. He retired in 1922.
After his retirement he operated a meat market and grocery store in Kannapolis. He died when his shotgun accidentally discharged while hunting. His body was found in Town Creek, about three miles south of Salisbury.
He died about 1929.
