Biography

There is no documentation supporting a marriage between a Richard Devereaux Gilliam and a Dorothy Pembroke. In fact, there is no documentation that Sir Henry Herbert, 2nd Earl of Pembroke and Lady Mary Sidney Herbert, Countess of Pembroke, had a daughter Dorothy. [1]

It is possible this profile has confused Dorothy Pembroke with a Dorothy Hastings.

Sir Richard Devereux married Lady Dorothea Hastings daughter of George Hastings, 1st Earl of Huntingdon and Lady Anne Stafford The Peerage Person page 32396

On further searching I found where the Gilliam might have come from "Children of Sir William ap Thomas. John --Gwilim-- Herbert+4 b. 1419 Elizabeth Herbert+5 b. c 1427 Person page 19580 The Peerage.

This is one of the most confusing profile i've worked on. I do know it doesn't lead to Pembroke but Pembroke was a place they left from. I believe they do indeed lead to Gilliam family not Hastings or Huntington. Just hard to get solid proof

The Herbert bloodlines if either Pembrokeshire and or Carnarvon are very difficult to trace, but keep in mind all that have this last name are ultimately descendents of William ap Thomas, ( in the male bloodline) ; in some way. Herbert is a derivation of the words ,, Hir-Bert,,,,,, meaning very tall.👍

So it appears her name isn't known neither did she marry Richard Devereaux (Gilliam?)

Herbert-207 and Herbert-2702 appear to represent the same person because: These two profiles have the same parents. The person is likely not to have been a child of the said parents so before disconnecting I think it is important to merge these profiles. Neither have documented sources.

Henry Herbert, 2nd Earl of Pembroke did not have any children by his first two marriages and his second wife didn't die until 1575 which meant he married Mary Sidney after that. This Dorothy Pembroke or Herbert does not belong here
