Biography

Troy Pennington was born in North Carolina in 1854, the son of Lorenzo Dowell Pennington and his wife Nancy.

Sometime around 1858, he moved with his parents and family to Washington, Virginia.[1] Soon afterwards, the family appears to have relocated back to North Carolina, living by 1870 in Piney Creek, Ashe County.[2]

In Taylorsville, Johnson County, Tennessee on 10 Oct 1878, Troy married Nancy Pope.[3]
