According to the Family Bible record of Rachel and Micajah Pennington, Sarah was their Eight child and born on November 24, 1776 while the family were living in the area of Wilkes County, North Carolina that became Ashe County in 1799 and during the American revolution for independence.
Morris Fork Kentucky: Family Stories and Genealogies from Breathitt County and Eastern Kentucky states that Sarah probably married Samuel Johnston in North Carolina before 1804.
Afer she died she was buried in Johnston Cemetery, Buckhorn, Perry County, Kentucky, USA]
