Was found in census records as Sidney Pennington.

Regarding the name Red Kirk Filmore Sydenham Pennington. this was given to me in an interview with my aunt Lallia Myree Pugh Christopher Paulk. She was daughter of Bezzie Adeline and his grandaughter and had a vivid recollection of Sid. She' said he lived in Birmingham, AL but came home to die. (meaning Amory, MS) He and Mary and a son arrived by train and Sid looked like he was gravely ill. They went to the home of their daughter Daisy Pennington Fears and Sid died there. He was taken by wagon to Hatley Cemetery' as she recalled. [1]

1900 Census Mississippi- Beat 1-Smithville-Precinct- Monroe County SD1-ED 69-30 June 1900 reflects Pennington, Sidney P head/house W M 40-May 1860 married 21 years, Mary A. wife w f Dec 1858 married 21 years-10 children born 9 living --ch Maggie age 17, Lonnie 15, Donie 15,Daisy 12, Bezzie 12, Joseph L. 9, Ollie M. 6, Agnes 1 year and two nephews.(1900 census per Steve Pennington)

Research

Update 05-13-97 per Nancy A. Danley to Bobby Pennington: Twins Ollie Mae Pennington b. 14 Feb. 1894 and Joseph Lee Pennington b. 16 Feb. 1891 were both from separate twin sets, each whose twin died young.

Update 31 Jan 2005 per Steve Pennington: 'Sid' must be short for Sidenham. Sid was married to Mary. They had twelve children: 5 boys and 7 girls. Possibly 4 sets of twins.

Yes, Comments by grandaughter Lallia Myree PUGH said. " the family came by train from Birmingham. My grandfather came home (to Amory, MS) to die. He died at the home of his daughter Daisy PENNINGTON FEARS"..."Daisy's husband was a drayer and continued to work during the funeral" ...comments recorded from an early interview with Lallia. Research revealed that the family lived in Amory, Monroe County, MS in the early 1900's.
